Our Stage 2 Torque Arm Insert is aimed at maximizing performance while still maintaining most daily-driving comforts. However, these Stage 2 torque arm inserts are made of 90a durometer polyurethane, so do expect some reduction in comfort due to increase noise and vibrations. These Stage 2 inserts are best suited for the enthusiast looking for maximum performance and vehicles that are track-prepped. Under hard acceleration, the pendulum mount (commonly referred to as the "dogbone" or by VW as the "torque arm") acts to limit rotational movement of the engine. The factory bushings do a satisfactory job, while limiting vibrations, but only during sedate driving conditions. When pushed hard, those bushings flex creating a vague feeling in the engine and gearbox and adding to the dreaded wheel hop phenomenon. Our pendulum mount torque arm insert fills the voids in the stock rubber bushing, making what was a soft rubber bushing with voids into what behaves like a solid mount. With the insert installed, you will notice that throttle response will feel better and your shifts will feel more crisp and defined, especially on manual transmission cars. INCLUDES:

  • Torque arm / dogbone polyurethane insert
  • Laser cut washer
  • Steel spacer
  • High strength grade 10.9 replacement bolt

FITS:

  • All MQB Platform Vehicles Including MK7/7.5 GOLF/GTI/R & 8V Audi A3/S3

  • You may experience some in-cabin vibrations after installing our insert. These vibrations are most noticeable in reverse and while the a/c is engaged at idle. These are normal and will subdue after approximately 1,000 miles of driving. TDI models will experiencing increased NVH compared to gasoline vehicles due to the design of the diesel engine.

    The BFI STAGE 2

To anyone that has it and says it’s not very noticeable. It is absolutely noticeable at lower RPM or at cruising speeds highway speeds 120 km an hour. You know what you did at low RPMs it’s like you have unbalanced wheels. At high RPM not very noticeable but on the highway there’s a noticeable vibration so far. I have 500 km done. They say it takes 1000 to break in. I don’t see it getting any better and reversing is like your car is about to stall out if you have a manual, but mine is DSG all in all I would not recommend. Wheel hop is gone and the shifts seem to be a little more crisp The power does feel better. definitely not for a daily.

    Dogbone insert

I did this alone with no other mounts and it improved the feel of throttle and shifting feel. I think it’s a necessary upgrade when the car gets to a point that the bushings are getting tired. It’s verry rough in reverse but besides that and a small increase in cabin noise I’m verry pleased

Facile a installer , légère vibration a bas régime mais pour une conduite de toutes les jours il y a aucun problème . Cependant je recherche quelque chose de plus rigide .

    BFI Stage 2 insert

Purchased this insert as the stage 1 was out of stock. Absolutely worth every dollar! All wheel hop is gone. There is increased vibrations while reversing and getting off the line, and some while idling cold. Would suggest for even stock cars.
