JHM Lowering Link Quick Install Guide:
These instructions will guide you through the process of installing JHM lowering links on your Porsche Macan with air suspension. This modification allows you to fine-tune your vehicle's ride height for a customized look and improved performance.
Tools and Preparation:
Tools Needed
-
Fork Pry Tool: This specialized tool is recommended to prevent damage to the suspension sensor.
-
Vehicle Jack and Jack Stands or a Vehicle Lift
Preparation
-
Raise the Vehicle: Use a jack with jack stands or a vehicle lift to safely raise the Macan.
-
Remove the Wheel: Remove the wheel to gain clear access to the suspension components.
Installation Process
Step 1: Locate the Factory Links
Identify the factory suspension links on your Macan. They are connected to the level sensor at the top and to the lower control arm at the bottom.
Step 2: Remove the Factory Links
-
Using your fork pry tool, gently insert the tool between the suspension link and the mounting point.
-
Carefully pry the OEM link off the mounting point.
-
Repeat this process for both the top and bottom connections to completely remove the factory link.
Step 3: Install the New JHM Links
-
Adjust the Links: Before installation, adjust the new JHM lowering links to your desired length. A shorter link will result in a lower ride height.
-
Snap On: Align the new JHM link and snap it onto the mounting points. Be sure to install the safety clips.
-
Repeat for All Wheels: Perform the same steps for each wheel to install all the new links.
Step 4: Final Adjustments
-
After installation, you may need to make minor adjustments to achieve your desired ride height.
-
Lower the vehicle and check its stance. If further adjustments are needed, you can raise the vehicle again and modify the link length.
