Replacing your camshaft follower requires removal of the fuel pump. Any time you remove this, items should be replaced and not re-used. This kit supplies you with the necessary hardware and gasket for this repair/maintenance. It is recommended to choose a regular interval to replace the camshaft follower to maintain a healthy system (For example: every 60,000 miles). These followers see a lot of wear during operation. This new style is less likely to fail or wear out early, but it is something you may want to check periodically, as failure can cause catastrophic engine damage. Be careful when working on the high pressure fuel system which can see pressures up near 3,000 psi.
