These mirrors show a R logo Puddle Light. If installing on a GTI you can swap in your GTI Puddle Lights if you like.
How the Power Folding Mirrors Work
When properly coded, the mirrors fold in automatically when the alarm is armed (lock the car), and unfold when you unlock it. You can also fold and unfold them manually using the folding position on the mirror adjustment switch inside the car.

- Left and Right Side Mirror Housings
- Folding Side Mirror Switch
Coding Required
This kit requires OBDeleven or VCDS for proper activation of the folding function. These tools allow you to enable the folding behavior in the vehicle’s modules.
Note: These can be used for Golf R or GTI models - For GTI models you will need to swap over your original puddle lights.
Installation
This retrofit requires removing the original mirrors, installing the power folding mirror housings, and swapping in the correct mirror switch. Wiring and coding steps are also needed.
