The factory Audi transmission mount has a large void in the rubber damping medium, which results in excessive transmission movement under load. This movement results in drivetrain slop than can be observed when accelerating, decelerating, and shifting.
This billet aluminum insert is designed to fill the large void in the factory transmission mount, and limit transmission movement without sacrificing ride quality or introducing any additional noise, vibration, or harshness into the cabin. Amazing piece of engineering and manufacturing! Too bad it is not seen too often as it looks great!
Great piece of engineering that fits perfectly and is installed in about 5 minutes after the car is jacked up. I am not sure how this feels on its own since I installed it with the transmission mount but it fit perfectly and afterwards the chassie is transformed into a much more refined and sporty ride. A must buy for any Audi B9 platform! The part looks so beautiful it is almost a shame it is on the bottom of the car never to be seen again. I had it on my desk for about a week just to be able to enjoy its beauty visually before installation.
