Rear Wing Kit Construction
The aerofabb® Competition Series Rear Wing Kit is constructed from precision CNC machined 6061 T6 Billet Aluminum Uprights and Airfoil Mounts which are media blasted and UV stable hard coat anodized. The uprights feature a knifed trailing edge to reduce drag and help feed the element cleaner air. The Airfoil and Trunk Mounts feature pre-attached precision CNC knife cut foam mounting pads to reduce vibration, eliminate any metal on paint contact, and create a weather proof seal.
The Wing Element is made using a precision machined billet aluminum mold with 2x2 Twill 3k or Plain Weave prepreg carbon fiber. It is then cured in an AutoClave followed by a UV automotive clearcoat. While this clearcoat isn't ideal for weight, we know that most consumers would opt for it. The element has a final weight of roughly 9 lbs.
Stainless Steel hardware is used throughout the kit while featuring Torx AoA adjustment points. Durable and weatherproof black plastic washers are utilized on the Wing Elements AoA adjustment points to eliminate marring of the anodized finish.
Adjustability
Depending on your current aero, suspension set-up/rake, or track of choice, aerofabb® gives you AoA adjustability on both the Wing Element and Endplates from 3-11deg in increment of 2deg.
FEA Optimized Mounting System
FEA (Finite Element Analysis) software was used to reduce weight and validate that the mounting components where still able to maintain the load, stress, and stability needed to function properly.
