Prevents Clutch Slip • Standardized Clutch Capacity • Flash at Home with APR Ultralink After a One-Time Mail-In Unlock • For 2019-2024 Porsche 911 Carrera, T, S, GTS and 2021-2025 911 Turbo S (992.1)
Power is only half the story. A tuned 992.1 needs a transmission that can deliver it. On the PDK2, both clutch packs need more capacity once the engine is tuned, and the weaker even-gear pack slips first. The APR Stage 1 PDK2 TCU Tune raises transmission torque limits and clutch current so the TCU can command the clamping pressure the added torque requires, scheduled by torque, shift state, and temperature and kept within factory hydraulic limits.
On the 911 Turbo S, PDK2 gives the clutches the capacity for the APR Stage 1 ECU High Torque file on 93 and 100 octane: up to 742 WHP and 652 WTQ on 100 octane, and a best 0-60 mph of 2.39 seconds on a street surface at 4,100 ft density altitude. On the Carrera, Carrera T, Carrera S, and Carrera GTS, factory clutch torque limits vary widely between box codes; PDK2 standardizes them so every supported car gets the same headroom. A rear-wheel-drive Carrera GTS ran a best 0-60 mph of 2.74 seconds on E85 with factory tires.
Shift strategy is calibrated too: revised Sport and Sport Plus upshifts, quicker shifts under high lateral and longitudinal load, optimized launch control, a Launch Control Active display in Sport mode, and a 6,000 rpm free rev in Park with matching APR ECU software. Creep, Neutral by Paddles, and Clutch Kick are selectable at flashing. Factory driving modes, diagnostics, and temperature protection stay active.
The PDK2 unit is unlocked once by APR, free and typically the same day it arrives, by mail or through an APR dealer. After that, PDK2 and future updates flash through the OBD-II port at home with APR Ultralink or at an APR dealer. Run it with the APR Stage 1 ECU for best results.
Features
- Raises transmission torque limits and clutch current so the TCU can command the clamping pressure that APR ECU torque requires
- Prevents clutch slip, which shows up first in the weaker even-gear clutch pack
- Clamping pressure scheduled by torque, shift state, and temperature, and kept within factory hydraulic limits to protect the seals
- Full calibrated capacity up to 140°C clutch temperature, with torque derating from 145°C to protect the clutches
- Carrera, Carrera T, Carrera S, Carrera GTS: standardizes clutch torque capacity across supported PDK2 box codes, which vary widely from the factory
