Installation is straight-forward—with the proper tools, equipment, and install guide, and Unitronic has made it even more simple with its optional Install Kit, equipping you with all the service items and hardware you may need, especially if you're due for a gearbox service.
If you're interested in taking advantage of this upgrade, a Unitronic TCU Tune is required. You must either already own Unitronic TCU Performance Software, or purchase Unitronic TCU Performance Software (sold separately) together with this Unlocked TCU. Please provide Unitronic with your TCU ID, TCU Revision Number, and VIN at time of purchase in order for the Unitronic DQ381.2 Unlocked TCU to be setup for plug-n-play installation into your vehicle.

WHY SWAP TO AN UNLOCKED TCU?
Some 2022 and many 2023+ vehicles built after 02/2022 were equipped with TCUs which have a locked "401" bootloader, previously limiting tuning options. Unitronic's Unlocked DQ381.2 TCU comes ready to plug-n-play into your vehicle with Unitronic's TCU Performance Software.
With the proper tools, equipment, and guidance, this TCU swap is straightforward for most. For added convenience, Unitronic also offers an optional Service Kit, which includes all necessary fluids and hardware needed to detach the TCU from the mechatronic unit and perform a gearbox service. At this stage, enthusiasts can also opt to replace the failure-prone plastic oil tubes with Unitronic's high-strength CNC machined Oil Tubes as well.
