Unitronic® is proud to release its Performance Downpipe for the 2017+ Audi® S4® and S5® equipped with the 3.0TFSI® EA839® (CWG) engine. This Downpipe is a direct bolt-on upgrade, designed to optimally eliminate unwanted restrictions in the factory downpipe, reduce turbo lag and enhance the exhaust note, while utilizing a 6” 400cpsi ultra high output catalytic converter which was designed in partnership with Unitronic from our emissions partners at Global Emissions Systems Inc (GESi®). GESi’s GEN2 ultra-high output UHOX catalytic converter was designed in conjunction with Unitronic for several 2017+ Audi® and Volkswagen® applications and is rated at up to 1200HP by GESi.
OEM FIT AND FINISH
At Unitronic, development begins with setting the objectives; performance, efficiency, aesthetics and quality. Operations start with 3D scanning the engine bay, exhaust tunnel and OEM components with Unitronic's in-house Creaform 3D scanner. Once 3D scan data has been collected and processed, Unitronic Hardware Engineers then interact with the 3D models to identify fitment constraints, mounting locations, other component locations, etc. to ensure the final product fits perfectly within the envelope, while achieving the objectives and intent of the product.
6" GESI 400CPSI CATALYST
One key area of development for Unitronic Engineers was the catalytic converter on this Performance Downpipe. While working closely with GESi through several iterations of their G-Sport Emissions Systems Catalytic Converters over the years, our goal once again was to ensure this product would satisfy our compliance demands, while fulfilling Unitronic's performance related goals. The team quickly opted for GESi 6" UHOX converter for this Performance Downpipe, which met the requirements for the modern 3.0TFSI engine, while being rated for a massive 1200HP.
Unitronic also utilized OEM-style thermal isolation / heat shielding to not only protect the engine bay from radiant heat, but also ensure catalyst temperature is reached and maintained for optimal efficiency and function. The large 6" catalytic converter provide exceptional flow while greatly enhancing the exhaust note of the turbocharged 3.0TFSI V6 engine. The smooth post-cat stainless steel transitions lead into dual 4.5" T304 stainless steel tubing, terminating at the factory 3-bolt mid-pipe flanges to ensure a seamless direct bolt-on fitment. When we say it's bolt-on fitment, we stand behind our words.

As with all Unitronic products, this Performance Downpipe has gone through extensive testing in a wide range of conditions on the road, track and dyno in order to ensure they meet our high standards for reliability and function. As a result, it is backed by Unitronic's limited lifetime warranty, which protects your hard-earned dollars and shows that we stand behind our products. Warranty Registration is REQUIRED for all products integrating GESi Catalyst(s) HERE.
MAXIMUM PEFROMANCE WITH STAGE 2 SOFTWARE
In order to take full advantage of this all-new Performance Downpipe, Unitronic Stage 2 ECU Performance Software is now available for the B9 S4/S5 & SQ5. With testing and validations completed, power output is dramatically increased over Stage 1 and Stage 1+ levels for a maximum of 467HP / 547LB-FT. This software upgrade is entirely compatible with our UniCONNECT+ cable, empowering Clients to tune their vehicles directly through the OBD-2 port within minutes, from the comfort of their own home or garage.
Paired with Unitronic Stage 2 Performance Software and other supporting bolt-ons, this Performance Downpipe helps yield up to 467HP / 547LB-FT on the 3.0TFSI equipped B9 S4 and S5.
