This product is made to order. Please allow a 4-5 week lead time before shipping.
We ship this part without a top clear coating. It is not UV protected and will discolor over time after sitting in the sun. It requires light surface prep for clear coat or paint topcoats.
General notes:
- Made of 2x2 twill carbon fiber. Hand-laid at our shop in Phoenixville, PA USA.
- C-level finish - see bottom of this page for details.
- Sealed hood vent ducting is not possible in these tight engine bays with an OEM location intercooler, radiator and condenser, therefore we followed all of the best practices we could to keep the efficiency of this vent as high as possible.
- This vent is placed in the low pressure area (blue) on the leading edge of the hood to take advantage of the pressure differential. This aids in heat evacuation as the higher pressure air (purple) is forced through the cooling stack at the front of the car (see pressure map image).
- We designed this around the production motor/cooling layout, not TCR homologated builds.
- Some intakes may require trimming of the shrouding, or the vent for clearance. If you are using an open cone filter we strongly suggest installing a cover to safeguard against water intrusion (filter-wears or something similar) - CJM has no affiliation with this brand.
Each order includes:
- Vent - raw, ready for finishing. (no clear coating).
- Cut template
You will need these materials for install (not included):
- Panel bond to attach to the hood
- Cutting tool
- Clear coating
- Watch the video for other tools needed to DIY install. Professional install recommended.
Disclaimers and common questions:
- This part alone will not solve existing overheating problems for track use. This is intended to be used in combination with proven auxiliary oil and or water coolers (divorced oil/water setups). Front aero, cooling core upgrades, cooling stack seals, fan shroud modifications, oil coolers in front of the stack, bent condenser fins etc can affect the efficiency of this vent. This is not a concern for most street use cars.
- This is not a clone, replica or reproduction of a TCR vent. Authentic TCR vents are designed for a specific racing class, and based on a stacked core layout, or TMIC that was not used in production vehicles. Our vent sits lower in the engine bay, and has a larger leading edge that would not meet TC-Racing rulebooks.
- We have not attempted to install this on any other models as of Aug 2026. The outside contour is based on a MK7 golf hood - it is not flat.
