Has your VW shifter suddenly gotten loose?

Make your MK4 Volkswagen, Audi, Seat or Skoda shifter good and tight again with our replacement shift cable bushing set. These custom made Delrin and UHMW polyethylene shifter bushings replace the spongy rubber bushings for the side to side and front to back shift cables. Prevents you from having to buy $400 worth of shift cables from the dealer when only the end bushings disintegrate. Proudly made in the USA and guaranteed for as long as you own your car!

If your 2000-2006 Mk4 car needs these bushings then it probably needs the Solid Stick SHAFT bushings and First Gear Getter, too. Get them all with the Deluxe MK4 Shifter Bushing Kit

Fits the following years and models with five or six speed cable shift transmissions:

2000-2006 MK4 VW Golf, GTI and R32
2000-2005 MK4 VW Jetta, GLI or Bora

Note: Our new universal kit includes all the bushings you will need. There are two different styles of side to side cables and we now include bushings for both types. You might also want to look at the Deluxe MK4 Shifter Bushing Kit since there is a good chance you will also need the First Gear Getter bushing and the Shifter Shaft bushings if your cable end bushings are bad. If you have a MK5 or MK6 car we have a MK5/MK6 Cable Saver bushing kit for your car.

Install: The videos below are the only provided install guides. The side to side cable end can be installed easily from inside the cabin. The front to back bushing can be done from inside the car if you drill a 1 1/8" hole in the side of the shifter box as shown in the second to last picture on the left or the last video below. If you are not interested in drilling a hole in the shift box to install the front to back bushing then you will need to access the shifter assembly from underneath the car.

Highly recommended: Buy a high quality T25 Torx driver or socket to remove the pivot screw for the steel bracket that the side to side cable attaches to. The T25 screws are very tight and the heads are somewhat soft. If you strip out the head then you will need to drill the head off with a 13/64" or 5mm drill bit.  After the stripped head is drilled off, the remaining shank of the 5mm screw will unthread easily. We provide an extra 5mm Allen screw in case you strip the head of the stock T25 screw. The replacement screw we include is 14mm long and requires a 4mm or 5/32" Allen drive wrench or socket.
