Fluidampr Crank Pulleys in Canada

Fluidampr makes the crankshaft damper that replaces a tuned engine's most underrated failure point. A crank pulley is a harmonic damper: it absorbs the torsional vibration every crankshaft generates. The factory rubber-bonded damper ages, hardens and eventually can't — and on tuned EA888 engines making far more torque than stock, the consequences arrive at the crank and bearings. Fluidampr's viscous damper uses a free-floating inertia ring in silicone fluid to cancel vibration across the whole rev range, forever, with nothing to wear out.

Our Fluidampr range is 3 products, and the sales are one story: the EA888 Gen 3 crank pulley accounts for 6 of the 7 orders (the 1.8T version takes the seventh). It's a known line item on serious MQB build sheets — bought when the engine is apart, when the power target climbs, or when an owner replaces a tired factory damper with the last one the car will ever need. Small catalog, zero ambiguity: this is insurance machined in steel.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Is a Fluidampr a power mod?

A: No — it frees nothing and adds nothing on a dyno. It's a protection mod: controlled torsional vibration means happier bearings, timing components and crank at tuned power levels. Buy it for the engine you want to keep.

Q: When should I replace the factory damper?

A: When it's visibly aged/cracked, when the engine is apart anyway, or when the build passes the power level where you stop trusting rubber. On a Gen 3 build sheet, it's standard practice.

Q: Do you install crank pulleys?

A: We don't install. Almost Racing, SFG Autohaus and Unique Workshop (Markham) and Fast Auto Concepts (Oshawa) all do this work.
